The Right Honourable Darren Jones MP is the Labour MP for Bristol North West and a member of the Science & Technology Select Committee. Before his election, Darren was legal counsel at BT Group specialising in consumer and advertising law, and data/privacy issues including preparation for and implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation. He has experience working across fixed and mobile communications, broadband/wifi, and broadcasting regulation. As part of his role, Darren was involved in pan-European trade bodies in the lobbying of EU legislation, and its implementation into UK law including through regulatory guidance and enforcement actions, including reforms to legal framework for telecommunications.
