Dr Sandie  Okoro OBE Dr Sandie Okoro OBE is a distinguished  British lawyer who currently serves as the Group  General Counsel for Standard Chartered Bank. She  assumed this role in April 2022, following her  tenure as Senior Vice President and General  Counsel at the World Bank Group from 2017 to  2022 . In addition to her position at Standard  Chartered, Dr. Okoro was appointed Chancellor of  the University of Birmingham in August 2024,  becoming the university’s first female Chancellor  University of Birmingham. Throughout her career,  Dr. Okoro has been a prominent advocate for  diversity, equity, and inclusion, earning recognition  as one of the most influential Black individuals in  the UK by the Powerlist in 2020.
